Kid, you'll move mountains.

11/13/2014 0 Comments Brrr!!! It's cold out!We survived our first blast of winter and cold weather. Thank you for sending kids to school bundled and prepared to go out... just in case. We will keep kids inside unless the temperature (including wind chill) is above 15 degrees. As soon as it hits that warmer temperature, we will go outside because everyone needs some fresh air. Many kids have similar, if not the same, winter attire. Please label their boots, mittens, and hats. This helps confusion in the class and finding/returning lost items.
Although your child may not have had an "accident" for years, please keep a season appropriate change of clothes in their backpacks. Lots of things can happen to necessitate a change including spilled water, bloody noses, sitting in a wet/muddy field, and even an unexpected accident. The nurse does not have many sizes that fit the small kinder bodies, and the kids just feel more comfortable changing into their own clothes. We are making a Thanksgiving book tomorrow. If you have a family picture (it doesn't have to include everyone or be perfect) please send it in. We can make a copy if you'd like the original back. You can also email the picture to me. I will print it off here. Thank you! Send in your contribution to the feast on Tuesday. Please let me know if you are traveling for the holidays and missing school. It helps me to plan activities and assessments when I know who is gone. Thank you!

11/2/2014 0 Comments Native AmericansThe kids have learned about Christopher Columbus and how when he thought he discovered a new route to India, he actually discovered North America. He mistakenly called the native people "Indians." This week, we will discover a brief overview of who the native people of North America really were and are.
